Looking for a fun, active program for your child this summer? Rosebud Yacht Club offers kids sailing lessons designed to introduce young sailors to the basics of sailing in a safe and friendly environment.
Our youth sailing course takes place on the calm waters of Port Phillip Bay, the ideal setting for beginners. Children start by learning how to rig their dinghies, understand wind direction, and follow important safety steps. Once they’re ready, it’s onto the water to discover the joy of sailing for themselves.
With the support of our qualified coaches, juniors gain confidence as they:
Steer and control their boats independently
Trim sails to match the wind
Build balance and learn capsize recovery
Take part in fun sailing games and beginner races
This learn to sail program is all about hands-on experience, teamwork, and enjoyment. It’s an activity that builds resilience and independence while creating lifelong memories on the bay.
By completing the course, children are equipped to continue sailing—whether joining club racing, advancing to higher-level classes, or enjoying sailing as a family activity.
At Rosebud Yacht Club, sailing is more than a sport—it’s a community where kids grow in confidence and discover a lifelong passion.
